Pittsburgh pulled off the biggest comeback in coach Dave Wannstedt's five seasons Saturday afternoon, rallying from 15 points down to beat Connecticut 24-21 on Saturday.
The Panthers improved to 5-1 on the season and this was the type of game that they have lost in the past.
But, sitting at 5-1 and 2-0 in the Big East, this team has a ways to go. There are still many question marks surrounding the Panthers.
*West Virginia and Penn State each cruised to convincing victories. Penn State routed Eastern Illinois 53-2. West Virginia is going to be a tough team to play down the stretch. QB Jarrett Brown is making strides under center.
*No. 1 Florida upended No. 7 LSU 13-3 Saturday night. Tim Tebow returned to action going 11-16 but the story of the game was Florida's defense, most importantly LB Brandon Spikes.
Spikes had 11 tackles and two sacks on the night. Spikes was projected to be a mid-to-late first round pick but decided to return to school. His stock is rising into the top 10.
*No. 5 Virginia Tech is slowing becoming a national title contender. The Hokies dominated Boston College 48-14. They are a complete team with a great running game and strong special teams. The key for them moving forward will be to limit the big plays on the defense.
*No. 12 Iowa the best team in the Big Ten?
