The North Carolina Tarheels are basketball’s new number one team receiving 23 first place votes as the new rankings were just announced.
The Pitt Panthers moved up to the #2 spot receiving 5 first place votes. #3 Memphis, and #4 Connecticut round out the top four.
Pitt and North Carolina are believed to be locks for a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
