RANGERS HEADING TO THE STANLEY CUP FINALS
After 20 years the New York Rangers are back in the Stanley Cup Finals. A 1-0 win in Game 6 over the Montreal Canadiens has New York heading to the Stanley Cup Finals and now wait for the winner of Chicago – Los Angeles. The Stanley Cup Finals begin Wednesday, June 4.
New York will be looked at as an underdog against LA or Chicago but this team isn’t going to be the 2012 New Jersey Devils who were a bit of a fluke team to get through the East and were no matchup for the superior Kings.
Have to give New York a shot with Henrik Lundqvist in goal. New York is a better team that people wanted to give them credit for.
The Rangers are four lines deep with speed, have a franchise defenseman in Ryan McDonagh, two No. 2 type defensemen in Dan Girardi and Marc Staal, and an all world goaltender in Lundqvist.
As Alain Vigneault has led the Rangers to the Stanley Cup Finals in his first season as coach, one year ago today the Rangers fired John Totorella.
