Profootballtalk.com reports that the Browns are pursuing former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher to replace Romeo Crennel as their next head coach. Speculation has been rampant for sometime that Cowher would be on the Browns radar and a "source with knowledge of the situation" tells PFT that the Browns have already approached Cowher and are willing to give him $9 million a year. Sources around the Steelers believe Cowher would be interested in joining the Browns. It has been widely speculated that Cowher seeks full decision-making control wherever he ends up coaching.
In other news, Bill Cowher a North Carolina State University alumnus will give the fall commencement address at North Carolina State University. The ceremony will be held Dec. 17. -- Pittsburgh Business Times
