Former New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty to a weapons charge and has agreed to a two-year prison term. Burress is 32 years old and his NFL career is in doubt.
The deal also calls for two years of post-release supervision. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 22.
The star wide receiver was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 8th overall pick in the 2000 draft.
Burress would play with the Steelers for five seasons before signing with the New York Giants in 2005. He helped lead the New York Giants to a Super Bowl Title in the 2007 season.
Plaxico's best season came in 2002 when he had 78 receptions for 1325 yards and 7 touchdowns with the Steelers.
