12:00 a.m. – The Pittsburgh Steelers released guard Kendall Simmons and free safety Anthony Smith today. The Steelers did not offer Smith a tender offer.
The Steelers offered RT Willie Colon a one-year, $2.198 million deal. The Steelers have the right to match any deal for Colon and would receive a first round pick if he signed elsewhere.
Significant interest in Nate Washington as the free agency period begins. There is no chance Washington returns to Pittsburgh. The Steelers did not make an offer prior to free agency. The Bucs, Titans, Rams, Vikings are reportedly interested in Washington. Sources have indicated that the Bengals, Lions and Bears have also reached out to Washington.
12:27 a.m. – The Redskins and CB DeAngelo Hall has agreed to a deal worth a maximum of $55 million over 6 years. He will receive roughly $23 million guaranteed.
12:31 a.m. – Fred Taylor will sign with the New England Patiots according to the Providence Journal. Pittsburgh expressed minimal interest.
12: 40 a.m. – The Steelers only have $7.8 million in cap space.

1:07 a.m. – The Steelers have a three year offer on the table to

guard Chris Kemoeatu.
2:19 a.m. – Chris Kemoeatu has declined a visit to the Buffalo Bills on Friday. This has sparked speculation that the Steelers and Kemoeatu are progressing in talks.
2:24 a.m. – Word is Bryant McFadden will receive atleast $17 million guaranteed. Drew Rosenhaus the agent for McFadden is seeking DeAngelo Hall money. I believe he will slightly less.
2: 27 a.m. – Sportingnews reports,the Jets are the favorites to land Ravens Linebacker Bart Scott
2:34 a.m. - A ton of interest in Nate Washington. Washington has scheduled visits already set for the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Bucs.  Tennessee, Chicago, St. Louis and even the Ravens & Bengals are being rumored as having some interest. Very surprised by such a strong market for Washington.
