The Carolina Panthers signed DT Hollis Thomas on Thursday. To make room for Thomas, the Panthers released rookie defensive tackle Ra'Shon Harris.
Harris was claimed off waivers last month after being cut by Pittsburgh.
Harris was the Steelers 6th round draft choice in 2009 and a player the team did not want to lose long-term. The Steelers intended to sign Harris to their practice squad before he was claimed by the Panthers.
