The Pittsburgh Steelers have until Thursday at 3:00 p.m., to place the franchise tag on nose tackle Casey Hampton and to no surprise Gerry Dulac of the Post-Gazette, reports that the Steelers will do so.
Barring an unexpected agreement on a long-term deal before Thursday's deadline, Hampton will be guaranteed a one year salary worth $7.003 million.
Casey Hampton previously said that placing the franchise tag on him is a slap in the face.
