OWNERSHIP CONCERNED ABOUT MESSAGE NOT MATCHING WILL SEND TO TEAM
The only thing stopping the Steelers from not matching the offer sheet for Emmanuel Sanders is ownership going against the recommendation being made by GM Kevin Colbert and his staff.

Word is the Steelers are said to be leaning towards not matching the offer sheet and taking the third round pick, but the influence of ownership still has the deliberating process on-going and the Steelers matching is still strongly in play due to ownership’s concern of the message it will send to the team.
Jason LaCanfora of CBSSports reports that Steelers ownership is likely to make final call on Sunday and that Ben Roethlisberger is lobbying hard to coaches and staff for the Steelers to match the offer sheet.
Will Roethlisberger sway the Steelers decision? He hasn’t in the past regarding other key decisions such as wanting to keep Bruce Arians and others.
