Jay Bouwmeester was not traded on Friday and it should not come as too much of a surprise as the agent for Jay Bouwmeester has been telling teams that Bouwmeester intends to test free agency no matter what.
A reason Flyers GM Paul Holmgren backed out of the Bouwmeester talks Friday afternoon.
Ron Salcer, the agent for Marian Gaborik has also indicated that Gaborik will test free agency. The Montreal Canadiens inquired about the right for Gaborik earlier in the day.
