In a move that has been expected since the end of the regular season, the Colorado Avalanche have announced the team has fired head coach Tony Granato and five other members of their hockey operations staff.
The team fired general manager Francois Giguere, just weeks after the season.
The Avalanche finished last in the Western Conference (32-45-5).
