Confirmed Deals in Place via TSN and Sportsnet of players who will technically hit the market today:

Defenseman Karl Alzner – Montreal Canadiens
Buzz: Aaron Ward reports it will be a 5 year deal with a $4.5 million AAV for Alzner. There will be no surprise around the league on this signing.

Center Martin Hanzal – Dallas Stars
Buzz: Hanzal has been eyeing a five year deal but word is the term might be lower.

Defenseman Dan Girardi – Tampa Bay Lightning
Buzz: It’s expected to be a multi-year deal. TSN’s Bob McKenzie reports with the $1.1 million he’s owed from the Rangers this season for the buyout, Girardi will make more than $4 million this season.

Defenseman Trevor Daley – Detroit Red Wings
Buzz: Deal will be official at 12:01. Will be at least three years.

Goaltender Steve Mason – Winnipeg Jets
Buzz: Jets upgrade the goaltending position with Mason. Expected to be a 2 year deal in the neighborhood of $8 million.

Goaltender Ryan Miller – Anaheim Ducks
Buzz: The 36 old netminder has been Anaheim bound for a few days.

Goaltender Brian Elliott – Philadelphia Flyers
Buzz: Elliott will receive a 2 year deal worth $5.5 million as the Flyers musical chairs with No. 1 goaltenders continue.

Goaltender Ondrej Pavelec – New York Rangers
Buzz: Rangers find their replacement with Raanta and will be banking on that a change of scenery will benefit Pavelec.

Goaltender Jonathan Bernier – Colorado Avalanche
Buzz: Will be a one year deal and another deal that’s been in works for days.

Winger Patrick Sharp – Chicago Blackhawks
Buzz: The band is getting back to together. Sharp had interest from 10+ teams as a buy-low candidate. Dealt with a bad back injury last season.

Goaltender Chad Johnson – Buffalo Sabres
Buzz: The Sabres are planning to move forward with Robyn Lehner and add Johnson as their top backup. He posted a .910 save percentage in 36 games for the Flames.

Center Sam Gagner – Vancouver Canucks
Buzz: A breakout season with Gagner is expected to land him a three year deal from the Canucks.

Defenseman Michael Del Zotto – Vancouver Canucks
Buzz: Many teams had interest in Del Zotto, including the Penguins, but term was an issue here. Del Zotto’s agent Mark Guy confirms his client has verbally agreed to sign with Vancouver. He’s expected to get a two year deal worth $6 million.

Goaltender Anders Nilsson – Vancouver Canucks
Buzz: .923 save percentage with Sabres had him as one of the most sought out free agents on the backup market. Gets an opportunity to be a Co-No. 1 in Vancouver.[/hide]
