Eight teams had scouts in attendence for the New York Rangers – Ottawa Senators game. Among them were two GM’s who have been very busy working the phones. Read more for the latest buzz.

The Ottawa Sun reports Vancouver Canucks GM Mike Gillis and assistant Lawrence Gilman were on the list of scouts for last night’s Senators-Rangers game at Madison Square Garden. Minnesota Wild GM Doug Risebrough was also in attendance along with the two scouts from the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Los Angelos Kings. The Senators who have lost 5 straight have been shopping forwards Antoine Vermette and Chris Neil. Neil is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
The Ottawa Senators are aggressively pursuing Avalanche defenseman Jordan Leopold and discussions have centered around the Senators shipping Chris Neil and Antoine Vermette for Leopold and forward Tyler Arnason. The Senators are also believed to be pursuing Canucks defenseman Mattias Ohlund.
