Treatment of older veterans could be playing a factor in Guerin being leery about coming to Pittsburgh

It has been no secret that the Penguins have been pursuing Islanders forward Bill Guerin. Prior to this week the Islanders and Penguins were scouting each other pretty heavily with the Islanders having their eye on Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis.
The pursuit of Guerin has taking another twist as I learned last night Guerin has indicated to the Islanders brass that he is not interested in waiving his no trade clause to play for the Penguins. He does not like how other older players are treated by Therrien and that is one of the main factors that he has indicated that he won’t waive his NTC.
On Sunday the Islanders were scheduled to have representatives in the building but they cancelled.
Maybe he changes his mind due to his close relationship to Sidney Crosby and if the Penguins climb up the standings but right now it doesn’t look like Guerin will be in a Penguins uniform. The teams currently on Guerin’s list are Boston, Calgary, Chicago, NYR, Edmonton, Vancouver.
I will post more info throughout the next couple weeks when it comes available.
