NHL: Hurricanes, Bruins, Sabres pursuing Eric Cole

Currently the Penguins are not in on Edmonton Oilers forward Eric Cole, nor do I don’t expect them to be but the Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins remain in talks with the Oilers about the under-achieving forward.
The Oilers are seeking immediate help in return and are only interested in moving Cole to the Eastern Conference

The Hurricanes are a surprise team to make a run at Cole considering they traded him last season but it’s beleived Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford is hopeful he could re-sign Cole if the Hurricanes were to re-acquire him. A report in Canada indicates a Ruutu-Cole swap is a possibility.
A source in Edmonton tells me the Sabres¬† have made inquiry but talks haven’t made it past the exploratory stages.
The list of suitors will likely grow leading up to the deadline.
