Many fans looking forward to a Eric Godard – Georges Laraque bout tonight will have to wait. Montreal Canadiens enforcer Georges Laraque has been placed on injured reserve and will not play against his former team tonight. Laraque appeared in 71 games for the Penguins last season but has only appeared in 17 games for the Canadiens this season. Laraque has been bothered by a groin injury since training camp and the injury has hindered his ability to play back to back games. Laraque made the trip to Pittsburgh yesterday but has been sent back to Montreal. Laraque signed a three year deal worth $1.5 million this past summer. Laraque had an interest in returning to Pittsburgh but the Penguins asked him to take a pay cut so they could save money to make a strong effort to sign Marian Hossa.
