PENGUINS FRONT RUNNERS TO SIGN GOALTENDER ERIC HARTZELL

The Pittsburgh Penguins have emerged as the front runners to sign Quinnipiac goaltender Eric Hartzell. The deal is expected to be a one year deal. The big 6-foot-4, 190-pound goaltender had an excellent senior season leading Quinnipiac to the National Title Game.
Hartzell who was a Hobey Baker finalist, went 30-7-5 with a 1.57 GAA and .933 save percentage and 5 shutouts. The 23 year old was a four year player at Quinnipiac going 58-27-17.
The Penguins have restocked their goaltending system in the past year, drafting Matthew Murray in the third round of the 2012 draft and Sean Maguire in the fourth round of the 2012 draft.
