Updated Practice Report: As expected Tyler Kennedy practiced for the third consecutive game. Also defenseman Philippe Boucher did not practice. Boucher was a scratch yesterday. More to come
This morning saw a bit of good news for the Penguins as Sergei Gonchar was skating for a conditioning workout. Gonchar been rehabbing for about five weeks now and there’s been talk for about the last couple weeks that he will probably return a few weeks prior to the trade deadline. Gonchar is not shooting pucks yet.
The news on Mike Zigomanis is not good. Sources tell me

Zigomanis saw a shoulder specialist two weeks ago and the shoulder is not dislocated but I was told he does have a tear. Surgery is an option but for the now he has gone the route of rehab. If his shoulder doesn’t improve through rehab and he has to go the surgery option it will likely end his season. The injury is not as severe as Gonchar’s was which is why there is some hope that the injury will heal through rehab.
The Penguins practice at noon today and Tyler Kennedy is hopeful to return tomorrow. It will be a coaches decision. He has gone through full contact drills the past two days.
Eric Godard is expected to be available for Saturday’s game. Could have played yesterday.
Matt Cooke was a bit banged up following yesterday’s game. He may be limited today in practice.
