The Pittsburgh Penguins remain active in trying to move salary in attempt to upgrade their roster and according to sources, the team is actively looking to trade forward Ruslan Fedotenko.
Fedotenko, 31, has 8 goals and 22 points on the season along with a team worst minus-12 rating.
According to a source, Fedotenko's agent met with a Penguins front office member this weekend in Montreal.
Fedotenko has a cap of hit of $1.8 million and has drawn interest around the league. Among the teams to make inquiries include the Nashville Predators, Phoenix Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings, and Minnesota Wild. It's believed former Penguins assistant GM Chuck Fletcher is highly interested in acquiring Fedotenko and keeping him beyond this season.
Pittsburgh is in talks of trading Fedotenko and an unknown defenseman in separate deals before the February 12th roster freeze to finalize a deal with the
