The New York Rangers have signed forward Vinny Prospal to a one year deal worth $1.1 million.
The Rangers were among the early favorites to land Prospal from the time he was boughtout by the Tampa Bay Lightning two weeks ago.
The Penguins did not express a strong interest in Prospal and never made an offer.
