Lots of interest around the league in Petr Forsberg
Peter Forsberg has recently denied the trade rumors that continue to hound him and the Flyers. But according to multiple reports, there are several teams that have called the Flyers to check on the veteran’s availability. The Canadiens, Avalanche, Rangers, Canucks and Flames are among 11 teams that have expressed interest in Forsberg. According to the New York Daily News, Forsberg could consider waiving his no-trade clause, if healthy, to go to a team like New York that has a chance at making a playoff run. According to the Daily News, Forsberg’s trip will delay a meeting between the center, his agent and Flyers GM Paul Holmgren, who had wanted to meet this week to find out whether both sides could work out a contract extension before the Feb. 27 trade deadline. Indications are for the Rangers to make a serious run at Forsberg, they will have to trade touted prospect Marc Staal to the Flyers. Staal is the only player the Flyers will listen to regarding a Forsberg trade to NYC: a source revealed to the Buzzontheburgh.

Gary Roberts on the trading block
According to a report from The Toronto Sun, Panthers winger Gary Roberts is on the block.
Panthers coach and GM Jacques Martin is reportedly prepared to make major moves and Roberts is near the top of that list. According to the newspaper, the Senators might be
interested despite the fact that they’ve already picked up center Mike Comrie from the Coyotes. The Maple Leafs also have strong interest in Roberts

A buyout for Jose Theodore?
Theodore has struggled all season and has a year left on his contract, set to earn a salary-cap charge of $5.3 million. The newspaper reported that the Avs could buy out the deal at a cost of $4M over two seasons. Theodore hasn’t started a game since Dec. 27 and hasn’t won a start since Dec. 23.
