Pittsburgh could be inching closer to a long-term extension according to sources. Read more for the Latest

Ray Shero and Jordan Staal’s agent Paul Krepelka had a sit down prior to yesterday’s game to discuss a longterm extension for Jordan Staal. My source called the discussions productive and Staal’s representatives are expected to counter the the Penguins 4yr offer within the next couple weeks. I’m told the Penguins 4 year offer is in the range of $12.75M – $13.25M. While it’s believed Staal likes what he hears from the Penguins regarding his role with the team in the future, it is still believed that Staal seeks to sign a 3 year deal not four. The main issue according to my source may not be the money or years but could be a movement clause if Staal were to accept the Penguins 4 year deal.
