Penguins forward Mike Zigomanis is on the fast track to returning from mid-season shoulder surgery as Zigomanis is believed to be 6 weeks ahead of schedule.
For the past 10 days, Zigomanis has been skating on the side with strength and conditioning coach Mike Kodar.
With the chance of being available to return to the lineup in the playoffs, Zigomanis stayed back in Pittsburgh to rehab his shoulder, opting to skip the trip to Philadelphia
Sources tell me Zigomanis will participate in a

full practice with teammates within the week and could be skating with the team as early as Monday or Tuesday.
Zigomanis has under-gone some light hitting from strength and conditioning coach Mike Kodar, during drills the two have conducted.
It’s being speculated that Zigomanis will likely be cleared to return to the lineup near the end of the second round
It remains to be seen if the Penguins will consider using Zigomanis in the playoffs, but Zigomanis will be re-signed in the summer.
There is a mutual interest from both sides in getting a deal done.
