CALIFORNIA (Nov. 15) – Following the results of the first-round games in the NCAA Division II Championship, the No. 7 California University of Pennsylvania football team will face Seton Hill University next weekend, Saturday, Nov. 22, in the second round of the national playoffs.
The Vulcans earned a first-round bye and the No. 2 seed in Super Regional One, while the sixth-seeded Griffins claimed a 14-7 road victory against American International College (Mass.) in sloppy field conditions on Saturday.
In the other regional semifinal match-up, top-seeded Bloomsburg University will face Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-rival West Chester University. The Golden Rams claimed a 52-32 victory over Southern Connecticut State University in the first-round game.
The meeting between Cal U and Seton Hill is the first all-time in the history of the programs. The Vulcans are making their second-straight trip to the NCAA playoffs, while the Griffins earned their first-ever NCAA bid this season.
Kickoff between the two local schools is set for 12 p.m. at Adamson Stadium.
