No late push from Penguins to get in the mix for Afinogenov

The chances of the Penguins signing a top-6 winger are getting slimmer by the day as free agency is now into day 34.

Another winger who will be off the board this week is 30 year old winger Maxim Afinogenov, a league sources tell Inside Pittsburgh Sports.com. Afinogenov will make a decision on his playing future that includes the NHL and KHL by Friday evening.

Anyone hoping to see Afinogenov join close friend Evgeni Malkin, don't count on it. The Penguins have not made a late push to get into the mix and are not a suitor for Afinogenov, Inside Pittsburgh Sports has learned.
