No.4 Pittsburgh defeats No.1 Connecticut 70-60

Sam Young’s dominating performance Saturday afternoon at the Petersen Event Center helped the No.4 Pittsburgh Panthers knock off the No.1 Connecticut Huskies for the second time this season. Young a projected first round pick in this summers NBA draft had a monster game with 31 points, 10 rebounds to lead Pittsburgh to a 70-60 win. Young has scored 55 points in two games against the Huskies this season.

The victory on Saturday likely secured a #1 seed for the Panthers in the NCAA tournament. The win was the second time this season the Panthers knocked off the No.1 ranked team in the nation. The Panthers beat #1 Connecticut 76-68 on February 16 which was the first time in school history that the Panthers beat a #1 ranked team.

The Panthers (28-3, 15-3 in Big East), finished 19-0 at home this season and defeated the Connecticut Huskies twice in one season for the first time since 2002-03
