"Nothing imminent" on the contract front for 2nd rd pick Jason Worilds

The Pittsburgh Steelers report to training camp in 10 days and have signed eight of their ten draft picks.

The two prominent players who remain unsigned is 1st round pick Maurkice Pouncey and 2nd round pick Jason Worilds.

There is nothing imminent on the contract for Worilds as contract talks won't begin until next week.

However, there appears to be little doubt that Worilds won't be signed before camp opens on Friday, July 31.

The uncertainty surrounding the CBA is believed to be a playing a part in a slow movement of signings among 1st and 2nd rounders thus far.

"It's probably a factor, " one NFL agent told Inside Pittsburgh Sports.com.

Are any 1st or 2nd rounders signed across the league yet? I can't think of any. Pouncey's and Worilds's are pretty cut and dry. A certain amount of $ up front and base salaries like always.

Nothing to worry about on either front. A guard/center isn't likely to hold out for more money, and Worilds is going to end up being the last guy to sign and being cornered by the remains of the rookie pool.

No first to sign yet, apparentely Anthony Davis LT 11th pick is close to signing so that would help set a number for Pouncey

does any one else think that the steelers went in the wrong direction when they went with worilds instead of sean lee.

It's impossible to tell Bing, 3-4 OLB's are much harder to find. If they think this kid can do it then I have no problem with it. Lee's a solid player but lots of people can play ILB.

i want to see Worilds play before i make any kind of judgement on him. i know tomlin pushed hard for him so we will see.

Bradford is the first news I've heard about a 1st-2nd round pick signing. Speaking of which, that deal is proff why you need a rookie cap (and JaMarcus Russell).

There def. is a need to be pissed. He's underpaid by a wide margin and he would like to be taken care of like the other players that are in his situation. He should be pissed.
