Notre Dames Tim Abromaitis scored 17 points, Ben Hansbrough had 15 points and nine rebounds, leading Notre Dame (18-10, 7-8 Big East) to a 68-53 win over No. 12 Pittsburgh (21-7, 10-5).
Playing a third straight game without Luke Harangody, the nation's No. 2 scorer at 24.1 points a game, Notre Dame was dominant from three point range, making 10 three pointers and shooting 56 percent from the arc.
It was a disappointing effort for the Panthers in all facets of their game. The Panthers failed to establish an inside presence and were out-rebounded 31-21 as the Irish pushed the tempo offensively.
Jermaine Dixon led the Panthers with 13 points and Ashton Gibbs added 11 points.
Pitt has three Big East games remaining on their schedule before the highly anticipated Big East Tournament in early March.
