The Pittsburgh Penguins failed to win their initial clinching game for the second straight series and will now host the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night for a game 7 showdown, in what could be the final game ever at Mellon Arena.
After getting back into Pittsburgh after 2:00 a.m., the Penguins went through an optional skate this afternoon.
About 10 players skated and among the regulars to skate were Jordan Staal, Mark Letestu, Craig Adams, Michael Rupp and Tyler Kennedy.
Alexei Ponikarovsky who is hopeful to get back in the lineup tomorrow night also skated along with Ruslan Fedotenko who has been scratched for the past two games.
Defensemen Jay McKee practiced.
Goaltender Marc Andre Fleury did not practice.
