Defenseman Brooks Orpik (groin) is testing his injured groin about 40 minutes before the Penguins are due to hit the ice around 10:30 a.m. for their morning skate. He is doing some very light skating and it doesn’t appear he will play tonight.
Pittsburgh host the New York Islanders tonight at the Consol Energy Center.

Orpik has missed the past two games with a nagging groin injury that has been bothering him since the pre-season.
The injury is believed to be related to the hernia surgery he had this past summer.
Elsewhere on the injury front, Arron Asham and Jordan Staal both skated again this morning.
Staal skated for the third consecutive day and was in full gear for the second straight day.
