Tuesday's Practice Notes
-Neither Troy Polamalu nor Hines Ward were at work outs today
-Keyaron Fox was back practicing
-Justin Hartwig participated, but didn’t run with the first team throughout all of practice. Doug Legursky snapped while Maurkice Pouncey played guard for the most part in those situations.
-RB Jonathan Dwyer turned heads and got a loud positive reaction from Mike Tomlin on a run play to the right late in practice.
- QB Byron Leftwich took the majority of reps with the first unit. Dennis Dixon got a few reps at QB with a partial first unit
-Ike Taylor on Art Rooney‘s more vocal role with the team lately (Rooney asked for more of an emphasis on the run and more impact from young players in recent draft classes this off-season): “We, as players, put him in a position where he had to talk. If we make the playoffs, go to the Super Bowl, he ain’t talking. We go 9-7, miss the playoffs, Mr. Art had too talk. We forced the old man to talk. But I don’t want him to have to talk again. That why we out here handlin’ our business. So Mr. Art don’t have to talk no mo’!â€
-No comment from Art on being referred to as the old man.
-Ike on his resume heading into the final year of his contract as a Steeler:
