The Pitt Panthers overtime loss to Utah on Thursday night was costly when it came to the Associated Press poll and the Coaches poll.
In the Associated Press poll, the Panthers fell out of the top 25 to No. 28, after being No. 15 last week.
The Panthers free fall continued in the USA Today Coaches poll, falling to No. 29 after being No. 14 last week.
West Virginia (1-0) is only Big East team to crack the top 25 in both polls, coming in at No. 23 in the AP poll and No. 22 in the coaches poll. The Big East had an extremely disappointing week as Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and UCONN all lost.
In the Big Ten, Penn State moved up one spot in both polls. To No. 14 in the coaches poll and No. 18 in the AP Poll.
