PATRIC HORNQVIST UPDATE

Patric Hornqvist won’t join the Penguins on their upcoming road trip but is only expected to be out for about a week, Penguins head coach Mike Johnston said after today’s optional practice.
Hornqvist is dealing with what has been described as a strain in his left side. NHL players often suffer abdominal strains throughout the year.
Meanwhile, Evgeni Malkin will miss his second consecutive game Tuesday night vs New Jersey but could join the Penguins later this week when they head out west.
The Penguins currently have only 12 healthy forwards and are allowed only two more recalls for the rest of the regular season.
