David Perron The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward David Perron from the Edmonton Oilers.

The Penguins will be sending a 2015 first round pick to the Oilers and forward Rob Klinkhammer to Edmonton.
Perron, 26, has 5 goals and 19 points in 38 games. Perron scored 28 goals last season and is a fast skater who is hard on the puck, possessing a skill and gritty game. He carries a $3,812,500 cap hit and signed through the 2015-2016 season.
Perron fits a lot of areas the Penguins sought, Speed, grittiness, and his cap hit falls in line with the Kunitz, Dupuis types. The Penguins are said to have explored a trade for Perron about 4-6 weeks ago and the ask was Brandon Sutter. Month later and they get him for what will be a late first round pick. That’s excellent value.
Perron’s play this season, though, has dropped off significantly, playing what scouts say is mediocre two-way hockey. His play in his own has often been an issue.
