DOAN LATEST
The Pittsburgh Penguins are among 10+ teams keeping tabs on Phoenix Coyotes winger Shane Doan, agent Terry Bross confirmed to Inside Pittsburgh Sports.com on Sunday morning.

Bross tells me this morning there’s been “contact” with Pittsburgh in the past week and that Doan is not ruling out Eastern Conference teams, contrary to some reports that might be out there.
If Doan decides to leave Phoenix, he is looking for a two-to-three year deal.
Doan, 35, turns 36 in October and had 22 goals and 50 points last season. Doan had 205 hits last season and would be an ideal fit with Sidney Crosby as a short-term option.
The Rangers, Red Wings and Kings are expected to be among the most aggressive teams for Doan and he has strong interest in the Rangers if he decides to come East, ” an NHL source says. Bross though tells me that Doan is interested in Pittsburgh. The Vancouver Canucks could be face the toughest competition for teams pursuing Doan as Doans wife is from Kamloops.
Doan last season made $4.55 million. He is waiting on the Coyotes ownership situation to be resolved and the Phoenix council have a key meeting scheduled for July 9. If things appear dark and gloom for the Coyotes staying in Phoenix long-term, Doan would begin more aggressively looking at outside options. Doan’s camp has given interested teams no timeline on how long the wait might be for Doan.
