POST-GAME BUZZ
The Pittsburgh Penguins dropped their third straight game and were shutout for the second time in three games in a 2-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils.
Cory Schneider made 35 saves for his fifth shutout of the season, Jacob Josefson scored in the second period and Adam Henrique added an empty net goal for the Devils who played the Penguins well the first forty minutes than hung on in the third period.
Pittsburgh outshot New Jersey 35-19, including 13-4 in the third period. New Jersey managed just 19 shots but created several prime scoring chances in periods one and two.
Thomas Greiss posted his fourth straight solid start making 17 saves on 18 shots.
The Penguins without Evgeni Malkin for the second straight game and also Patric Hornqvist, started the game with Chris Kunitz and David Perron playing with Sidney Crosby on the top line but as the game progressed, Blake Comeau was moved up with Crosby and Kunitz. Crosby was held pointless for the 27th time this season.
The Penguins have scored one goal or less in five of their last six games.
