Pittsburgh controlled the play for the first two periods and failed to hold on to a 2-0 lead as the New York Rangers outshot the Penguins 18-2 in the third period and a late defensive breakdown from the Penguins led to a 3-on-2 and Nikolai Zherdev scored the tying goal with 8.1 seconds left to send the game to overtime. After a scoreless overtime, the game went to a shootout and Rangers forward Fredrik Sjostrom netted the only goal to give the Rangers a 3-2 win. The Penguins got goals from Daryl Sydor and Sidney Crosby. Marc Andre Fleury was strong in the net making 42 saves. Full Analysis in the morning.
