It has been confirmed to the Buzz on the Burgh that the Pittsburgh Penguins are in ongoing talks with the Calgary Flames about defenseman Robin Regher. I have been told that the likely players involved in the trade talks are Robin Regher to Pittsburgh for Ryan Malone and Brooks Orpik. More players could be involved but Colby Armstrong or Eric Christensen are not apart of it as of right now. If the Penguins are able to finalize this deal they most likely will have to include a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick or another role player…….The Flames reportedly would prefer to send Regher to the Eastern Conference. The Anaheim Ducks could get into the running if Scott Niedermayer retires. The NYR, COL, EDM, Atlanta Thrashers are also expected to join the Regher sweepstakes.

My Take: It seems hard to believe the Flames would accept such a deal without a 2nd round or 1st round pick being involved….. more on this later
