So that means on saturday we have Skoula, Gonch, Eaton, Orpik, Lovejoy and Engelland, right?

That looks right....hopefully one of them can add a goal too.

And the team shows up to play unlike last evening.

opinion question: Guenin vs Engelland, who do you take and why?
11/20/2009 9:08pm
Chancebd7
Engelland....hes been very physical and moves the puck decent
11/20/2009 9:17pm
gdsmack267
one thing i liked about Guenin was his ability to shoot the puck or move ir quickly towards the net in the offensive zone
11/20/2009 9:44pm
last yr the pens played in canada when gonch returned and lost 6 2 then and a coach got fired...id love to see mike yeo get off the pp his designs now that he doesnt have a big man in front of the net suck
11/20/2009 11:39pm
wolfman
pens pp was most consistent with malone in front. no one else wants to be pay the price--- Rupp? if he were 5 years younger maybe he could do it for a while....
11/21/2009 1:11am
wolfman
malone again: 3 of his last four goals are pp goals. of his 13 goals, 4 are game winners.... Rupp is now the biggest dude on the roster
11/21/2009 1:31am
Monrovian12
Staal could be that guy..."could"
11/21/2009 1:33am
wolfman
maybe, so far it hasn't been his game. malone was bull and had a pretty nasty edge.... getting beat up in front of the goal just made him want it more. pretty special quality.
11/21/2009 1:44am
JD
why not try rupp up front? what do they have to lose...the pp is pathetic...Crosby, Malkin, and Geno should be scoring like 40% of the time lol...i still can not believe yeo kept his job when therrian got canned
11/21/2009 2:16am
rumrum68
I know everyone says that it won't be this year...but Tangradi is 'that' guy in front of the net
11/21/2009 8:10am
Carnauerff
If Rupp were 5yrs younger? He's younger than Malone, Wolfman
11/21/2009 9:10am
Samtheman
i dont know why everyone loves yeo when u have all the talent of the league but yet worst pp for the last 3 years whi this talent pens should finish top 3 every year
11/21/2009 10:03am
zerocool6687
rumrum... Tangradi has been playing hurt or out hurt most of the yr and has not exactly ripped up the AHL while in the roster with ONLY 3 points (2 goals) in 8 games. NO RIGHT NOW HE IS NOT THAT MAN thank you very much! Hopefully he figures it out before next season or we may be waiting another yr, that being said its a long season so he has time to put it together once fully healthy this yr!

Sam Im not sure you are reading correctly... eveyone hates Yeo.... I even emailed a writer for NHL.com who did an article on the Pens (and who has direct contact w/ Shero) asking him to pass on my email to RS. In it I said the fans are fed up and the league knows how abysmal the PP has been and that its Yeos problem. I also requested him not to just take the word of a random fan but to explore the Pens blogs and see that this is the sentiment of nearly all Pens fan. Mike Yeo has to go!
11/21/2009 11:00am
wolfman
i realize rupp is a year younger than malone. my comparison goes only as far as who can withstand the abuse that comes from playing in frront of the goal every night. and that malone has spent the last 4 or five years perfecting that role.
11/21/2009 11:28am
wolfman
the love for Yeo comment, i think was from the management and team perspective and not the fans
11/21/2009 11:31am
stengel
are we really blaming Yeo for not executing on the PP...serious, fellas...GET A CLUE! A coach can only draw up the play and put players in the right positions...THE PLAYERS EXECUTE...WAKE UP!
11/21/2009 11:54am
stengel
Why arent you ALL complaing about Malkin and Crosby WITH ALL THAT WORLDLY TALENT for NOT executing...we have THE BEST players who can NOT execute ... WHO'S TO BLAME? Mike Yeo...FUNNY!
11/21/2009 11:55am
Juice731
from what i've read all of the coach and players love yeo as a person, it doesn't make him a good coach, why can't we just have him on the team as a players coach? The PP is obviously not working with him writing up the plays, all i'm saying is give it the pp responsibility to someone else and if we still don't produce then we can all conclude that its not the coaching its the players.
11/21/2009 12:19pm
Chancebd7
Hey stengel maybe the coach isnt drwaing up the right plays ever think of that?...yeo has been garbage ever since he joined the team.
11/21/2009 12:42pm
we won the cup last year and mike yeo was a coach you typical pittsburgh fans always do this shit when a team starts losing its rediculous
11/21/2009 1:52pm
jaluco
why DOES stengel CAPITALIZE every OTHER word?
11/21/2009 3:41pm
jaluco
Yes chance, but at what point does Bylsma take some of the blame for not taking the responsibility off of him?
11/21/2009 3:42pm
Monrovian12
It was talked about last year while the Pens were winning too. And you're being quite the hypocrite.
11/21/2009 3:43pm
PetariFX
Didn't Yeo get taken off of PP and put on PK?
11/21/2009 5:48pm
stengel
Some Pittsburgh fans are SORRY...they only know when to cheer when the team is winning...sorry to say...they are NOT the fans that represent the city of Pittsburgh! When times get tough...they cry, complain, point fingers, and even find another team...for a week or two!!!!
11/21/2009 6:27pm
rumrum68
zero...you just said it. He has been playing hurt the whole year. I was just saying that he is/will be that guy for the Pens THAT YOU VERY MUCH. Sure, he needs work...and to get healthy. That's all I was saying was that he is the kind of guy the pens are looking for in that role. So COOL IT
11/21/2009 6:28pm
stengel
Once again...BLAME THE PLAYERS that are NOT doing their jobs on the PP...the coach is not the one NOT SHOOTING, NOT MAKING SMART PASSES, NOT PASSING THROUGH THEIR LEGS, NOT PASSING OUTTA THE ZONE...this is silly coming from NON HOCKEY MINDS!
11/21/2009 6:29pm
stengel
and IF it was a COACHING issue...dont you think that Bylsma would make a change? IT'S A PLAYER ISSUE...get a clue!
the coach is the one not trying to establish a net presence in front...all really successful PP units have a good net presence and thats not the players fault there isnt one out there.
11/21/2009 7:02pm
Marettcr
stengel you make a valid point, but the power play unit has underachieved the last three years, i dont know exactly how long yeo has been in charge but atleast the last two years. Yes currently the players are executing at a poor level but, to be in the bottom half of the league for so long with our talent is just unacceptable and some one other than the players needs to be held accountable
11/21/2009 7:15pm
stengel
YES! We scored on the PP...way to go Mike Yeo!!!!! I guess he's the one to praise, right?
11/21/2009 7:30pm
stengel
It's AMAZING to me when coaches are the ones to blame for the PLAYERS not getting in position on the ice, field...you really think the coaches are not putting these players in the right place during practice? the players are NOT executing at the right times...and let's not forget that Gonchar has been gone and he is our ONLY hope for the PP!
11/21/2009 7:32pm
zerocool6687
Yes he has been playing hurt.. what does that mean I wonder... hmmmm I believe it means instead of him getting the valuable experience he needs he is nursing his wounds! He WAS NOT READY to start the yr how can you believe that he would be ready by spending half the yr on the IR!
