Penguins to recall Chris Conner

The Pittsburgh Penguins will recall forward Chris Conner from Wilkes Barre/Scranton. Conner leads the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins with 8 points in 6 games and was in the running for the Penguins 13th forward spot in training camp.

Conner has been Wilkes Barre's top forward this season and will play against Columbus Friday night.

Pittsburgh is also expected to recall Mark Letestu for the teams West Coast trip next week. Letestu who plays center, has 5 points in 4 games and recorded 61 points in 73 games last season for Wilkes Barre/Scranton

I'm told the reason Letestu will get the call-up over Jeffrey is because of how well Jeffrey is playing. Pittsburgh doesn't want to mess with that momentum, just for a short call-up.

The same for Luca Caputi who is playing very well.

1st line remains the same obviously, but after that there are many different combinations that could be used. Conner is a winger I believe, right?

I hope the team communicates that message to the players. Wouldn't want them to get the wrong impression about who is getting called up and why.

Im sure they will. If they told D that they will tell jeffery and caputi. penguins organization is a class act

i agree jeffed. that's a bit odd. Isn't that why the guy plays his ass off? To earn a call up?

So leading the team in scoring isn't considered playing well then? And Letetsu has over a point per game. Jeffrey has been called up before, its not like they've passed him over numerous times before. If it was a long-term call-up, Jeffrey would be the guy I'm sure.

yea and they dont wont him to get like 7 minutes a game on the fourth line let him play 22 in the ahl and keep up his streak. not too hard to figure out

its pretty much a short term call up with no roster spot open after malkin and kennedy come back. there is no need to disrupt a development of a cuputi, tangradi just for a cup of coffee. When they come up it will be for good..
