The Pittsburgh Penguins this afternoon re-assigned forward Andrew Ebbett and defenseman Scott Harrington to Wilkes Barre/Scranton, the team announced. Neither has seen NHL action this season and Wilkes Barre plays Tuesday night.
With Harrington, who is just 21 years old, the Penguins apparently felt him being around the NHL club and getting practice time was more important than playing as he’s missed the opportunity to play in four AHL games while being up with the Penguins as the seventh defenseman.
Defenseman Robert Bortuzzo practiced fully today and is getting close to returning to the lineup. The re-assignment of Ebbett gives the Penguins 12 active forwards as Beau Bennett remains a few weeks away.
