fleury The Pittsburgh Penguins have resigned goaltender Marc Andre Fleury to a four year contract extension worth $23 million, the team announced moments ago.
Fleury’s AAV will be $5.75 million when his new extension kicks in next season. Fleury is currently making $5.75 million this season with a cap hit of $5 million.
Negotiations between the two sides intensified this weekend as Fleury’s agent Allan Walsh met with team officials this weekend in Pittsburgh and the framework of the deal came about pretty quickly.

Fleury’s deal includes a full no movement clause and a no trade clause.
“I believe in Marc Andre Fleury, as the team does,” GM Jim Rutherford said in a released statement. “He’s won before and he will win again. We’re very pleased to have him signed long term.”
The Penguins have around $54.3 million committed to 13 players (7 forwards, 5 defensemen, 1 goaltender) next season, including Scott Harrington who we project will be a regular in the lineup next season.
