Guenin becomes third Pittsburgh native to join Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to terms with defenseman Nate Guenin. The deal is a one year deal and includes a two way contract.
Guenin, 26, appeared in 1 regular season game for the Flyers last season while spending the majority of time with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the AHL
After seeing Guenin play a number of times throughout his years at Ohio State and in the Professional Ranks, Guenin is regarded as a

stay at home defenseman who has very good positioning and takes the body when he needs to. Very good character player and does play a Rob Scuderi type of game, although obviously he’s not the player Scuderi is.
He is not going to contribute much offensively recording 43 points in 333 career minor league games.
Guenin is a nice depth signing for Wilkes Barre but very unlikely that he pushes for a roster spot.
