Updated: 2:55 p.m. The Latest on Paul Bissonnette

It will be interesting to see if defenseman Danny Richmond clears waivers. There has be some interest in Richmond. Among two teams to express an interest have been the Boston Bruins and Phoenix Coyotes
A source told me just about twenty minutes ago that with Bissonnette making this trip it is basically a guarantee that he will be in the lineup at sometime next weekend. Bissonnette will be a good addition against a Senators team that will look to play a physical game with Chris Neil and Jarkko Ruutu in the lineup. What happens with Bissonnette after this trip remains to be seen. I am still hearing the front office is split on Bissonnette. Therrien is pushing hard for him to remain on the team
The Penguins still have to make one more cut before Saturday’s game. All 25 players will stay with the team during the trip. the player who is re-assigned will sort of be like a emergency call-up player just in case someone gets hurt. Bill Thomas has to clear waivers. I think he makes the cut.
I think Pesonen may be the odd man out following the preseason game in Finland
