A few updates from today’s skate in Southpointe:
*Sidney Crosby leaving the team on Saturday during their West Coast road trip was not planned before the team left for San Jose on Wednesday.

However, there was no indication over the weekend that there was anything to worry about and Crosby is back on the ice this morning, a full participant in today’s skate.
Crosby met with his medical team early this morning, before the team practiced at 10:00 a.m.
*Jordan Staal had a gutsy effort in Saturday night’s win and the team intends to give him some time off this week to rest his sore leg that is bothering him at times, most notably on face-offs.
*The Penguins are starting to get a logjam at forward and practices are getting pretty crowded. The Penguins today had 15 forwards on the ice and things looked even more crowded on the ice due to the skate being at Southpointe.
With Tyler Kennedy close to returning and Sidney Crosby not far behind, management is already preparing to make a routine waiver move or possible trade.
