Morrow, Winterhawks advance to WHL Conference Final
2011 first round pick Joe Morrow (TIOPS No. 1 prospect) and the Portland Winterhawks advanced to the WHL Conference Finals with a 2-0 shutout win over Kamloops on Wednesday night. Portland took a 3-0 series lead only to drop the next three games but closed out the series in seven games.
Morrow was pointless in the game 7 win but had 4 assists in the series.
Morrow is tied for first among defensemen in the WHL playoffs with 9 points (2 goals - 7 assists) and has a team-leading +11 rating in the playoffs.
Morrow had a strong regular season, collecting 17 goals and 47 assists for 64 points in 62 games played.
Uher has strong series against Tri-City
