*Head coach Dan Bylsma didn't want to pinpoint an exact timetable for defenseman Zbynek Michalek but Bylsma said today that Michalek will be sidelined for the next 2-4 weeks.
{Zbynek Michalek} has an upper-body injury," Bylsma said. "It's tough to estimate, but 2 to 4 weeks on Z"
Michalek who is sidelined with what is believed to be a shoulder injury was evaluated for a second time by team doctors yesterday. It appears the Penguins are in a wait and see mode right now but at this point surgery doesn't appear to be an option which is good news.
*Defenseman Brooks Orpik did not practice today and remains out with a groin injury. He is day-to-day but is not expected to play tomorrow night against the New York Islanders.
*Forward Arron Asham is no longer regarded as being "out indefinitely".
