The Pittsburgh Pirates this morning acquired outfielder Jonathan Van Every from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for catcher Josue Peley.
Van Every, 31, is batting .211 (4-for-19) with 1 home run and 1 RBI for the Red Sox. He has appeared in 21 games this season for Boston.
