The Pirates this afternoon designated catcher Dusty Brown for assignment.
The team has called up Eric Fryer from Triple-A Indianaplois and Fryer will be active for tonight’s game.
Fryer is hitting .262 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI’s in 65 at-bats.
