Garrett Jones Garrett Jones due to make upwards of $5 million next season, won’t be brought back by the Pirates in 2014. The Pirates today designated Jones and RHP Kyle McPherson for assignment.

The 40-man roster moves were made as the Pirates acquired OF Jaff Decker and RHP Miles Mikolas from the Padres for first baseman/outfielder Alex Dickerson.
